Passerby Villain In A Wizard World

Chapter 210: The True Beginning

[Calvora Continent, Stormbreak Bay]

The world Ian travelled through, Aetherion, was huge. It was so large that even after reading the Arcane Passage up to Volume 1, Ian didn't know its size and influence. Read exclusive content at My Virtual Library Empire

However, out of all the places, if Ian had to say which one he was the most familiar with, then he would pick Calvora without a doubt.

In fact, he wasn't even as knowledgeable about the Gravethrone Continent as he was about Calvora.

But he couldn't be called out, as the major plot—or all the plot up to where he had read—happened in the Calvora Continent.

Gravethrone Continent was just Carl's starting point, where he was introduced as an orphan who happened to luck out and become acquainted with Ruther, a sixth-ring wizard.

Starting with the usual clichéd plot, Carl was already sailing on the Deepsire toward Calvora for his wizarding path within a few chapters.

There was no mention of the forbidden zone, nor was there any drama like what Ian encountered

So, in essence, Calvora was the true beginning of the plot where Ian's existence wasn't welcomed in the novel.

He was supposed to be a Passerby Villain forgotten in that god-forsaken land that was already sealed and abandoned by the top Wizards on the other side of this world.

But yet, here he was, standing on the top deck of the Silver Gull, looking at the fiery tempests ahead that were ravaging their path and preventing them from moving forward.

Those storms, infused with dense mana, made the situation even direr. If one wasn't careful, they would undoubtedly be lost and killed in an instant.

There would be no mercy.

And that was the case, even with the Silver Gull, an Advanced Artifact, working at full capacity with its defensive barrier.

"Sir, this is the last barrier we have to cross. After that, we will reach Stormbreak Bay on the Calvora Continent. We just need to follow the route recorded in the Silver Gull, which is updated regularly. After that, it will guide us to the Wizard Base here."

And besides Ian was Ron, standing respectfully explaining the details of their movement.

"Umm!"

Hearing his explanation, Ian simply nodded and didn't answer, seemingly lost in his thoughts.

Seeing that, Ron also stood respectfully without the demeanor of a First Ring Wizard, appearing as his slave at his beck and call.

'So, in the end, we didn't meet the Siren Queen Morgana, huh.'

Although the fiery tempest that shrouded the heavens and earth ahead, looking thousands of times more dangerous than any storm on land, seemed daunting, Ian's attention wasn't on that.

Instead, he was thinking about Morgana, the Siren Queen, whom the protagonist, Carl, encountered during his voyages in this Deepsire. She was another female lead introduced in the Arcane Passage.

However, after the disappearance of Carl when he used the Traveller's charm, he didn't encounter anyone during the entire month-long journey.

'Is it because I'm early or because of his disappearance?"

In fact, Ian was really looking forward to meeting with Morgana, not because she was described as beautiful as the Greek Goddess Amphitrite, but because of the item on her.

Like he said before, sea and land were different worlds in their own, and in some cases, the sea was more dangerous yet extremely resourceful. So, having someone who was familiar with it in his journey was extremely important.

Not to mention, Morgana had the Tideheart with her, a precious artifact that allowed its wielder to command the sea's currents and protect them from its dangers among its many uses.

Even Ian wasn't sure what rank that artifact held.

But he knew that just by possessing it, Morgana's Siren clan had been massacred by the Krakenborn, a ferocious sea tribe, and she had barely escaped during the chaos, meeting the protagonist during the run.

"Sir, I already got the signal from the base. Do we set sail?"

Ron, who was silent before, suddenly spoke to remind Ian that if they wanted to enter the Calvora Continent, then they had to follow the path pointed out to them, fast.

"Hmm? Yeah, let's set sail. Just be careful and use the shield in full force."

This wasn't the first time they had set sail inside the fiery tempest in this sea with their ship.

In fact, with this month alone, they travelled through such huge storms that seemed capable of destroying even the Official Wizard if he was caught off guard a dozen times.

Only now, Ian understood what his father had meant when he said that even if they wanted to leave, Calvora wouldn't allow them.

It wasn't that they wouldn't allow them to set foot, but without their knowledge about these storms and the hidden passages within, it was basically impossible to traverse the Deepsire.

He also had to rely on Ron to navigate through hidden paths. So, he was really glad that he didn't kill this guy out of anger.

Otherwise, he might have to steer the ship into an unknown sea, enduring even more danger and uncertainties.

"Yes, Sir."

"Umm! By the way, how are Torren and Varn doing?"

Just when Ron was about to leave after getting an order from Ian, he suddenly heard Ian's curious query.

"They are doing just fine with no abnormalities outside. Don't worry, sir, I'm keeping an eye on them."

Ron immediately replied to Ian with reassurance.

"Okay, no need for that. You can go and ask them to pay close attention to Borris instead. Also, reply to your base as soon as possible and inform them about our situation. Just act as always, natural."

"Yes!"

Ron nodded at Ian, turned around, and walked toward the captain's room, intending to do as Ian had suggested.

In fact, when they traversed such storms before, they just followed the fixed method to bypass them.

But this time, it seemed they had to follow the instructions from the base. It seemed Calvora really didn't like intruders from the Gravethrone Continent.

Ian still didn't know why that was, just like he didn't know if those huge tempests that he couldn't fathom with his eyes were natural or some Wizard's method.

'It seems that Sigil is really useful.'

Ian then thought of Torren and Varn, who were under his control, with a smile while looking at Ron's disappearing figure.

'So, can this essence of the pact also control people?'

He then focused on his consciousness, where a few strands of dark threads floated silently—fragments he had gained from devouring Ulthera's obsession.

However, beside it, there was another sigil that looked quite different from the Soul Contract he saw on Aurora.

Instead, it was eerily familiar to the pact he had formed with Ron before.

'The Sigil Of Subjugation.'

Once Ian knew he could absorb even the soul contract formed by Ulthera, a monarch, he, of course, without wasting time, tried on the pact he had with Ron.

Without suspense, he directly absorbed the pact he had with Ron. There wasn't any issue at all.

But he was unsure whether it could be used like the essence of the soul contract, which he used to control Captain Torren and Varn.

At that time, he wanted to use it on Borris, but that guy was a madman and didn't fear death from the looks of it. Ian wasn't sure, so he refrained.

Besides, he still needs him to lure his brother out to get that item.

'There are really too many treasures that I need to snatch, huh.'

Ian found that the more he approached Calvora, the more he realized that there were too many opportunities he could snatch from Carl.

After all, in the novel, Carl did skyrocket in his realm while grabbing those treasures and resources alike, although his talent played a vital part.

"I don't know if he managed to cure his broken arm?"

Ian smirked a little while remembering Carl's severed arm during the fight. Even for a Wizard of as high as Third Ring, regenerating a severed arm was impossible unless they do transmutation like that Borris or Torrren.

But that was diabolical and wasn't a true method.

So, he was quite curious how Carl would fare.

As for whether he would be able to reach Calvora, he had no doubt about that. For all her care, even if that guy directly teleported to the Calvora, he wouldn't be surprised.

"Swish!"

Just as Ian was busy contemplating his upcoming journey and past adventure, he suddenly felt the once-silent ship begin to move. His gaze shifted toward the tempest ahead, which was rapidly approaching his vision.

It seemed Ron was quite fast in his work. He was already directing the ship outside towards the Stormbreak Bay, where Ian would finally encounter authentic Wizard organizations and people alike.

It was also his only way to gain sufficient knowledge, acquire power, and free himself from this fixed destiny that had been plastered onto his existence from the start.

"Isn't this The True Beginning?"

Ian couldn't help but comment with a smile. As for whether he was referring to the plot of the novel or his own life, nobody knows.
